The aesthetic and care sector is innovating and new techniques are emerging, particularly in terms of facial care protocol. What is the basic protocol? What are the new techniques used and how to train? Here are some professional tips to help you train and improve your skills.
Although there are new methods in facials, the basic protocol remains the same. Then, the use of machines will complete the facial care by targeting according to the needs. The Make-up & Treatments training allows you to acquire all the basics of the protocol to know to sublimate a face.
Step 1 : Make-up removal
Make-up removal is an essential step in the facial care protocol. During an examination, the judges are very specific about this step. You must start by removing the most pigmented areas of the face (eyes and mouth). For the eyes, you should preferably use a waterproof makeup remover, then you pass the cotton from the outside to the inside delicately, without rubbing.
Then, take some cleansing milk and apply it with a cotton pad always from the bottom to the top of the face so as not to create wrinkles. Rinse with clean soft sponges, then dry with a tissue. Finally, you can apply a purifying, moisturizing or toning lotion depending on your skin type (dry, combination, oily, normal skin).
Step 2 : The scrub
After removing makeup and cleansing the skin, the next step in the facial protocol is exfoliation. Exfoliating the skin allows for the elimination of dead cells and better oxygenation of the cells. In addition, the complexion is smoother and more radiant. There are three types of exfoliation.
The mechanical scrub with grains
This is the most common exfoliating product. It is composed of gel or cream with micro-grains (usually apricot kernel grains). This type of scrub is used on normal skin.
The chemical scrub with fruit acids
Here, the product is not abrasive. You apply a gel with a brush and leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes. Massage with a little warm water then rinse. The exfoliation is carried out thanks to the fruit acids. This type of exfoliation is indicated in the cases of sensitive skins (acne, couperose, fine skin, etc).
The mechanical rolling scrub
This kind of scrub is more rare than the other two. You need to apply this fibrous product with a brush, let it dry and then peel off the scrub gently with the fingertips. This scrub is used on normal skin.
Step 3 : The face mask
Once the skin is clean and exfoliated, it is the ideal moment to apply a face mask according to the type of skin:
- Purifying mask for combination skin with imperfections
- Moisturizing mask for dry skin
- Nourishing mask for very dry skin
- Anti-aging mask for mature skin
The mask is applied with a brush. To facilitate the penetration of the active ingredients, you can put a warm towel on the face during the pause time. Then, rinse with the clean sponges and dry.
Step 4 : Modelling
Facial modeling is a massage that promotes relaxation but also blood circulation. You can use massage balms or any other greasy product, with essential oils to make the modelling more pleasant. Remember to always apply pressure in an upward direction to avoid creating fine lines. You can also gently massage the neck, shoulders and chest. The facial protocol concludes with the application of a moisturizing, purifying or firming day cream.
Step 5 : The make-up
After having carefully carried out the protocol for your facial, you can propose a flash makeup or a day makeup. If the client wishes, evening makeup, more sophisticated, is also possible. If you need a refresher course on make-up techniques, L’Ecole Française offers an online Make-up & Skincare training course, accessible to all. - The vapozone is used after the scrub and allows to dilate the pores and to add an action thanks to the ozone and the essential oils
- The lucas championière allows to clean the skin in depth by dilating the pores
- The high frequency is very appreciated for oily skin and allows the active ingredients to penetrate deeply and decongest the skin
