I suppose you could say that a couple stays together if they have fun together. When you are having a good time with someone, it’s difficult to grow apart.
Any relationship, no matter how strong, will suffer from a serious type of relationship trouble known as “lack of fun.”
The daily grind of work, bills, kids, chores, etc. tends to consume us all. All too often, this leads to couples becoming stuck in a rut and forgetting to enjoy each other’s company.
The only difference between a grave and a rut, I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again because I believe we need to be reminded of it.
How to have fun again
Here’s a quick way to start patching things up if you find yourself in this unpleasant situation in your romantic relationship.
I’m asking each of you to list 10 different activities that you either used to enjoy doing, would like to resume doing, or both.
Select one item from the list each week and set aside time for the two of you to work on it.
I realize how basic that sounds. Then again, why would I want to complicate things for you?
